How the upholstery groups work

Product Details

A coil-sprung seat, not a foam pad – Toro is built around a pocket-sprung seat cushion rather than the moulded foam used almost universally in office seating, paired with a comfort-moulded foam backrest cushion. The gas lift carries an additional pneumatic comfort spring system as standard, so the whole seat has give in it before the mechanism is engaged at all.

130° of recline across eleven locking positions – The relax synchro mechanism offers lateral tension adjustment and free-flow recline through 130°, with eleven lock positions — substantially more range and more fixed positions than the four-position mechanisms typical of task seating. A sliding seat and polished aluminium die-cast five-star base complete it.

Key Highlights:

  • Pocket-sprung seat cushion – coil springs rather than foam alone

  • 130° recline with 11 locking positions

  • Lateral tension adjustment on the relax synchro mechanism

  • Additional pneumatic comfort spring system on the gas lift, as standard

  • Sliding seat depth adjustment – 45–50 cm

  • Polished aluminium die-cast five-star base with load-controlled braked castors

Built for long days in one chair – Toro's engineering is aimed at sustained sitting: the sprung seat and pneumatic comfort spring reduce the static pressure that foam alone produces, and the wide recline range means the chair supports genuinely different working postures rather than one.

  • Pneumatic seat height adjustment: 42–51 cm, with an additional comfort spring system in the gas lift

  • Adjustable torsion control: Lateral tension adjustment sets recline resistance

  • 130° recline, 11 lock positions: From upright working through to a genuine reclined rest position

  • Sliding seat depth: 45–50 cm range to match femur length

  • Coil-sprung seat cushion: Distributes weight across springs rather than compressing a single foam block

  • Comfort-moulded backrest cushion: Shaped support across a 68 cm backrest

Why it matters

Even a well-engineered chair won't help if it's set up incorrectly — you'll carry the same aches into a new chair. This guide covers the small, high-impact adjustments that fix the cause, not the symptom, so your chair delivers the comfort and support it's built for.

How you receive it

Place any order and we'll email your download link as soon as your order is confirmed. Open it on your phone, tablet or laptop and follow the steps as you set up your chair.

The Apex Ergonomics Pack is available only to Apex Comfort customers — not included when the same chairs are bought from general retailers or marketplaces.
