Which back height?
53 cm
The shorter back — leaves the upper back free to move.
61 cm
The taller back — supports the shoulder blades.

Product Details

The F1 chassis, built to dissipate static – The F1 ESD is the electrostatic-discharge specification of the F1 task chair, certified to IEC 61340-5-1. It is built for environments where a static discharge is a genuine risk to the work: electronics assembly and repair, laboratories, cleanrooms, server and comms rooms.

Everything the standard F1 does, on a conductive build – Point-synchromatic mechanism with a manual tension control handle, free-flow recline with a four-position lock, and a 70 mm sliding seat included as standard. The difference is in the materials path: conductive upholstery, a conductive armrest and a polished aluminium base, so charge has somewhere to go.

Key Highlights:

  • Certified to IEC 61340-5-1 — the electrostatic-discharge standard for electronics handling

  • Point-synchromatic mechanism with manual tension control handle

  • Free-flow recline with four-position lock

  • 70 mm sliding seat depth adjustment — standard, not an upcharge

  • Height-adjustable backrest, in a 53 cm or 61 cm back

  • Polished aluminium base — part of the ESD specification

Seat depth slides through 70 mm as standard, carrying the seat from 400 to 470 mm, on the same point-synchromatic chassis as the rest of the F1 range. These are the adjustments you set:

  • Pneumatic seat height adjustment: 400–530 mm

  • Sliding seat depth: 70 mm, standard on every build

  • Adjustable torsion control: manual tension handle sets recline resistance

  • Four-position tilt lock: move freely or fix the backrest

  • Backrest height: choose a 53 cm or 61 cm back; both are height-adjustable

An ESD chair is not a standard chair with a label on it — the conductive path has to be continuous, so several parts are fixed rather than chosen.

  • Upholstery is drawn from a dedicated conductive range, not the general fabric collection.

  • Armrests are the ESD-specific 2D functional armrest. Other armrests in the F1 range are not conductive and are not offered here.

  • The base is polished aluminium. The plastic base used elsewhere in the range is not part of this specification.

Why it matters

Even a well-engineered chair won't help if it's set up incorrectly — you'll carry the same aches into a new chair. This guide covers the small, high-impact adjustments that fix the cause, not the symptom, so your chair delivers the comfort and support it's built for.

How you receive it

Place any order and we'll email your download link as soon as your order is confirmed. Open it on your phone, tablet or laptop and follow the steps as you set up your chair.

The Apex Ergonomics Pack is available only to Apex Comfort customers — not included when the same chairs are bought from general retailers or marketplaces.
